Sweetwater County School District #1 Head Start is committed to empowering families by providing opportunities for early childhood development, family partnerships and community involvement through quality, confidential services.
Sweetwater County School District #1 Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program designed to help low-income and at-risk 3 and 4 year old children and their families. At Head Start we recognize the vital role parents play in giving their children opportunities to learn. We work in partnership with parents to support their child's development at home and at school. We support children as they transition into Kindergarten and support families in becoming advocates for their child's education for years to come.
Each classroom has 20 children with a teacher and teacher assistant. We have 1 classroom in Green River and 4 classrooms in Rock Springs. Three of our classes are held Monday - Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 classes that held Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Priority is given to families who have children with disabilities or whose income is within the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If you have any questions, please call the Head Start office at 307-352-3430 or 307-875-6925.
